Baker likewise voices Batman, Joker, Eagle, and Loki in various media, and has provided voices for a number of English dubs of anime, including Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist: Alliance, Naruto: Shippuden, 1 Piece, and Soul Eater. He was previously the atomic number 82 singer and rhythm guitarist for the alternative rock band Tripp Fontaine, with whom he released an anthology titled Random Thoughts on a Paper Napkin (2004). He so released the solo album Sitting in the Fire (2014) before he and his bankroll band changed their name to Window to the Abbey and released the anthology Moving Effectually Bias (2017).

Early on life [edit]

Troy Bakery was born in Dallas, Texas, on Apr i, 1976.[1] [2] [3]

Career [edit]

Acting [edit]

Baker began his vocalization interim career doing radio commercials in Dallas. He was recruited past Christopher Sabat to practise voice-over work at Funimation for the English accommodation of the anime Case Closed. He went on to work in dubbing anime such as Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, and the Funimation dub of 1 Slice. He so moved to Los Angeles and began working on Curiosity-based animated serial, providing the voice of various characters in The Avengers: Globe's Mightiest Heroes, as well as Hawkeye and Loki in Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble.[4]

Baker's career in the video game manufacture began when he voiced Matt Bakery in the tactical shooter series Brothers in Artillery. In an interview with The Griff, he said, "It was starting to become necessary for actors to go involved [in gaming], so I got into that and it was literally stumbling from one chore into the next. That was kind of my first snowball effect."[v] His most notable roles came in 2013, when he provided the vox of Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite and the voice and motion capture of Joel in The Concluding of U.s.. Both games earned critical acclaim, gaining scores over 90% on GameRankings[6] [7] and Metacritic,[8] [9] and widespread commercial success.[10] [xi] He was nominated for both of these roles at VGX 2013, winning for The Last of Us. He and then worked on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, playing Nathan Drake's older brother Sam. He reprised the role in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.[12]

In 2011, Bakery became the voice of Siris, the hero of Chair Amusement's blockbuster mobile game serial Infinity Blade, and in 2014 he was the voice of Talion, the protagonist of Eye-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which earned a rating of 9.3 on IGN. He also voiced Ace (Experiment 262) in the English dub of the anime Stitch! He was listed on Entertainment Weekly 's in their best of 2013 event for all-time breakout actor in the video game manufacture for his performances in The Final of Us, BioShock Space, and equally the Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins. He is ane of the few actors to have portrayed Batman (Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Lego Batman three: Beyond Gotham, Lego Dimensions, Batman: The Telltale Series and Batman: The Enemy Within), the Joker (Batman: Arkham Origins), and the 3 major iterations of Robin (Tim Drake in Batman: Arkham City, Dick Grayson (as Nightwing) in Injustice: Gods Amidst Us and Jason Todd (every bit Red Hood and the main antagonist) in Batman: Arkham Knight).[13]

In May 2018, Baker and voice actor Nolan North began hosting the weekly YouTube series Retro Replay. In Apr 2020, due to an apparent disagreement on the future direction of the show, Baker left to start his ain series.[14]

In Jan 2022, Bakery announced that he was partnering with VoiceVerse, a company that helps create and promote AI powered voice NFTs, saying "Nosotros all have a story to tell. You lot tin detest. Or you can create. What'll it be?". The announcement received backlash from his fans and fellow vocalism actors, who highlighted the potential for environmental damage and exit scams associated with NFT sales. Furthermore, it was discovered that VoiceVerse had stolen phonation lines generated from fifteen.ai, a non-commercial AI text-to-spoken communication service, as part of their marketing campaign without permission.[15] [xvi] [17] [eighteen] Baker responded that he appreciated people sharing their thoughts and their responses were "giving me a lot to think about." [xix] [20] [21] On January 31st, 2022, Troy Baker announced on his Twitter account that he would no longer be working with VoiceVerse.[22]

Music [edit]

Earlier pursuing acting, Baker was the lead vocalizer and rhythm guitarist for the alternative rock band Tripp Fontaine, which released the radio single "Burning Out" from their debut anthology Random Thoughts on a Paper Napkin in 2004.[23] [24]

Baker's first solo album, Sitting in the Burn, was released on October fourteen, 2014.[25] [26] [27] On October 6, 2017, Baker and his bankroll band, besides chosen Sitting in the Fire, released his second album Moving Around Bias under the new name of Window to the Abbey.[28]

Personal life [edit]

In 2012, Baker married photographer Pamela Walworth, also from Dallas. They reside in Los Angeles.[iv] Their son, Traveller Hyde Baker, was born on May 3, 2018.[29]
